Dog yoga and shower the animals

Here are a couple of ideas for this beautiful Saturday, November 6th:
Be here – The Brentwood Family YMCA and Mars Petcare will hold the first Nashville area Power of Pets program event. This new initiative celebrates the relationships between humans and pets. I love the mission of this program:
We love pets. Not only do pets create meaningful moments of joy for the people around them – interacting with pets delivers real, tangible benefits for individuals and communities. In turn, it is our responsibility to make the world a better place for the pets in our lives, by providing them with safe, healthy, loving homes; good healthcare and nutrition; and proper training and socialization. The bond between humans and their pets is unique and special, and we are dedicated to celebrating it through programs and partnerships that highlight the positive experience of having a pet.
This FREE event takes place from 11am-2pm and will include pet health screenings, dog yoga (how awesome is this?!), ZUMBA, contests, giveaways, and more great family-friendly activities.

Also on Saturday, our friends at New Leash on Life are holding the 1st Annual Shelter Shower for the Animals at their shelter in Lebanon from 1pm-4pm. There are so many showers –  Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, why not a Shelter Shower?! I think this is a great idea! They are in desperate need of towels, metal medium food/water bowls, Frontline for dogs, Revolution for cats, and Advantage Multi for both cats and dogs. This flyer has a great list of other items they are in need of. And did you know that New Leash on Life is registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond? (first name: New Leash, last name: On Life) Finger food and beverages will be served so definitely stop by and bring some gifts for our furry ones in need.

Cassie is the studio manager for Adrian Hitt Photography. She keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes and frequents the blog often with her tips on what’s going on in the dog world. In addition to her work here, Cassie freelances in the local music scene, volunteers with animal rescues and enjoys being outside with her pups. She lives in Nashville and is the proud parent of Jeffery, Ittey and Banjo – two rescue dogs and one awesome orange cat!
