French Bulldogs – Nashville, TN Dog Photographer

Okay, in my opinion, I think French Bulldogs are one of the FUNNIEST dog breeds to photograph! They are always snorting, blowing bubbles and making other noises that are their unique way of communication. So, you can imagine how excited I was to photograph TWO Frenchies. And to top it off, they have great names – LeRoy and Stogie. Our session was on Halloween so it was only fitting to do a photograph with a pumpkin – but note, not just any pumpkin, a pumpkin with a bird carved in it. Why is this important you ask? Well LeRoy and Stogie’s last name just happens to be Bird.:)Thank you to their parents for choosing me to photograph them. They are such a great couple and I’m so glad they wanted to be in the photographs as well! You must check out Dan’s website – he is a talented singer/songwriter and plays Nashville regularly!

Wednesdays with Laura

As some of you learned from our e-newsletter, Adrian Hitt Photography has a special new treat for our dogography clients. With every photography order, our clients will receive Granola Barks from Two Good Dogs, an all-natural dog treat made right here in Nashville. These delicious treats have a simple recipe–rolled oats and chicken–your dog won’t turn these down. Benny goes crazy over these! Check out the new website and find a store nearest you!

In other news, last week we hosted a Halloween costume contest for our lovely readers. We had several photo entries, and it was such a difficult  decision that we created two categories. The winner for the dog costume contest is Flossie, who is dressed as a bumble bee! I am impressed by Flossie’s stoic facial expression…a very serious, yet humorous portrait. Thanks Candace for sending in this photo!

The winner of the child and dog costume contest is Peyton! Titled “Three Monkeys” this photo definitely captures the fun-loving nature of this family. We also love how the dogs appear as though they are Peyton’s body guards–we know she is carefully watched over! Thanks to her mom Stacey for sharing this moment with us!

Thanks to all who sent us your photos! We hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Gratitude – Dog Photographer Nashville, TN

While thinking about what to write for this blog post, I was reflecting on how much fun I had at this dog session. And then I realized that I say that a lot all of the time! It made me think about how so very fortunate I am to get to do something I love so deeply for my career. This is because of the support, trust and inspiration from you – my clients, friends, fellow colleagues and family. My clients know that we always a good time at sessions, but I want you to know that I consider it such an honor to capture your memories. You all have invited me into your private lives, homes and relationships – and how I greatly appreciate that. Dog and children’s photography fits me so well and I love the freedom you give me to challenge myself creatively. Because of the value you place on my creative process, I am able to continue in it. Thank you. I hope you know your relationship, trust and business are valued.

Meet J, T and their German Shepherds, Max and Princess. We had the most gorgeous day for our session and I loved getting to know them. J is quite the story-teller – which I loved! He kept me entertained, and if you’ve been around me much, you know I don’t mind chatting.:)And T is just so sweet and kind. We shot in their gorgeous, restored historic home in East Nashville that I will have to share later. For now, here is a favorite from downtown Nashville. Everyone have a safe and happy Halloween! Don’t forget to send us photos of your kids and/or dogs in costume. We have special treats for the winners!

Monkee’s Pawty!

Two weeks ago, we teamed up with Monkee’s of Nashville to host a dog-friendly get-together – a pawty! Monkee’s owner and Adrian Hitt Photography client Elizabeth Broyhill, was generous to have the pawty in her beautiful shoe and accessories boutique. Adrian set up several photography canvases, transforming the store into somewhat of an art gallery. The canvases will remain on view through the holiday season so please be sure to stop by! You will love Monkee’s and all of the fabulous shoes she has to offer. Elizabeth has done such a great job of bringing New York to Nashville and she always has something new! We were also joined by Michael Quaranta and Marston Maddox, founders of Two Good Dogs, who provided delicious Granola Barks, an all natural, nutritious dog treat. They were quite a hit with our four-legged friends!

Thanks to everyone who came out for the pawty! Check out Monkee’s blog to see some photos and enjoy Adrian’s photos below…

Also, this Saturday Monkee’s is holding a trunk show for Frye boots, so it’s the perfect opportunity to drop by for some treats and check out Adrian’s gallery.

And, don’t forget to send us your photos of your dog or children in halloween costumes! We’ll choose the best one and send a belated halloween treat! Thanks!

Dog Photographer Nashville, TN – Dexter the Aussiepoo

You’ll remember this Ausiepoo from a post last week. Dexter is a hybrid breed, also known as a designer breed. He is half Australian Shepherd and half Poodle. He’s an 11-month-old puppy and seriously just too precious. I had the best time with Mary, his dog mom, and him. For being so young, he is extremely well behaved. And of course that is with thanks to his sweet demeanor, the love and care of his mom, but also to dog trainer extraordinaire, Kat Martin of Dogs and Kat. If you are looking for training classes for your dog or behavior counseling, look no further! Dexter is getting ready to take his AKC K-9 Good Citizen exam and if our dog photo session was any indication, I’m sure he’ll do great!

Dexter and I immediately bonded. I love his wavy curls and white markings. Such a handsome boy. Enjoy these.
