PeaMutt Butter Cheerio Balls

This is a treat we sometimes carry here at See Spot Eat. We tend to keep it in stock around the holidays, but it’s popular with our own pups year round! (Maybe your dog will give you a high five as well if you make it!:)) This makes small pieces of treats which are great to use for training.

Ingredients

2 c whole wheat flour
4 c Cheerios cereal
1 c natural or organic creamy peanut butter
1/4 c nonfat dry milk powder
3 eggs
1 tbsp molasses
1/4 c warm water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Put peanut butter in a large glass bowl and put in microwave oven for a minute or so until softened. Mix in all the other ingredients until the dough is fairly crumbly and stiff.

Use your hands to spread the dough onto a large greased cookie sheet. If need be, you can put grease or flour on your hands to keep them from getting sticky. Spread in pan 1/2 thick or less – NO THICKER!

Bake for 10 minutes. Remove the pan and flip the dough – pieces at a time. Return to oven for five more minutes. Remove from oven and break any large pieces in to smaller, bite-sized pieces.

Enjoy!
